John Hamilton
John Hamilton was the son of Isabelle Hamilton (b. ca. 1806) and the brother of James (b. ca. 1839), Mary (b. ca. 1842) and Isabelle A. Hamilton (b. ca. 1848). He cannot be located for certain in the 1860 Census, but a 14-year-old of that name was living in the household of a farmer named William Given in neighboring Beaver County, Pennsylvania. He was drafted and mustered into the Co. M, 62nd Pennsylvania Infantry on July 16, 1863, then was transferred to Co. K, 91st Pennsylvania Infantry in July 1864. John Hamilton was killed at the Battle of Hatcher’s Run, Virginia on October 28, 1864.
