Biography:
Phillip A. Lantzy was from Cambria County, Pennsylvania and mustered into service as a private in Co. A, 11th Pennsylvania Reserve Infantry (40th Volunteers) on July 23, 1861. His father, Cambria County farmer John Lantzy (b. Pennsylvania ca. 1822), was the son of immigrants. Phillip Lantzy was killed at the Battle of Antietam on September 17, 1862.
