Biography: 

Hiram Hill Collins (b. NC ca. 1824) was a farmer from Olive Brance, DeSoto County, Mississippi. At the time of the 1860 Census, Collins and his wife, Mary A. Collins (b. NC ca. 1834) resided on their farm with three young children. H. H. Hill enlisted as a private in McLendon’s Battery, Mississippi Light Artillery on January 14, 1864 (the unit was later designated Merrin’s Battery). Hiram Hill is included on a list of paroled prisoners dated May 20, 1865.
