Sarah Catherine Boyd (1841-1918) resided in Abbeville County, South Carolina with her family. Her parents were Robert (1804-1875) and Catherine (1813-1846) Boyd. She had five brothers and one sister. Four of her five brothers died while serving in the Confederacy. She, her sister, one brother, and her father all survived the war. She married Samuel Amaziah Purdy (1843-1936). They and their many children continued to live in Abbeville County, South Carolina long after the war.
