Biography: 

Robert Pressly Boyd (1840-1862) resided in Abbeville County, South Carolina with his family. In 1861, he enlisted with his older brother Daniel in Co. D, 7th South Carolina Infantry. His three other brothers and his brother-in-law also served in the Confederacy. Along with four of these men, Robert died during the Civil War. He was killed near Harper's Ferry in September 1862, at the beginning of the Maryland Campaign.
