Biography: 

Robert Boyd (1804-1875) was an Irish immigrant and a resident of Anderson County, South Carolina at the time of the Civil War. In 1860, he was a widower with five sons and two daughters. His first wife Catherine Boyd had died in 1846. He would remarry to Hannah Crowther. All five of his sons and one son-in-law fought for the Confederacy; only one, Daniel, survived.
